Part 4, Introduction to the Anglican Tradition
By Fr. Mark Perkins
Here I consider the three great gifts that the Anglican tradition has given the Church -- the prayer book, the King James, and English sacred music (with a bonus of Anglican poetry!), as well as how the Anglo-Catholic movement restored more of the visual beauty, in addition to the classical Anglican emphasis on beauty in speaking and hearing.
In addition, we take a tour of St. Alban's Anglican Cathedral in Oviedo, Florida, noting how the physical space is designed for spiritual formation and, above all, worship based on the model of Revelation 4 and 5.
One note: I botched the eighth window. It's the Ascension, not Pentecost. You'll have to watch to figure out what I'm talking about though.
Fr. Mark Perkins is Curate at St. Alban's Anglican Cathedral in Oviedo, Florida and Executive Editor of Earth & Altar.
